As Data Products Director of the American Medical Association’s (AMA) Health Solutions Group (HSG), Menning brings twenty years of experience in the realm of CPT data and licensing products. Menning joined the AMA in 1999, first working in sales and licensing of AMA data products, subsequently, in data product management and development. In the two decades since, his expertise and understanding of the organization’s initiatives as well as environment trends led to increasing leadership roles. Most recently, Menning has been leading the engagement team of what is considered to be a key component of the innovative initiative known as the AMA Integrated Health Model InitiativeTM (IHMI). He also serves as a member of the IHMI leadership team working with key healthcare and technology stakeholders to find solutions to challenges related to the usage and organization of health data.
The American Medical Association opened its doors to the Integrated Health Model Initiative™ (IHMI) in late 2017 and has been immediately well received. From its public release, individuals from 48 states and 79 countries are on the IHMI platform and 17 collaborating organizations have joined the initiative. This multi-stakeholder and collaborative effort features three key components: 1) a digital platform for collaborative communities around costly and burdensome areas of care; 2) a clinical validation process to review submissions and incorporate feedback from the market place 3) a general purpose, machine-readable information data model. During this session Matt Menning, Director of Engagement for IHMI, will provide an update on IHMI efforts, and attendees will learn how they can get involved with the initiative, and how IHMI plans to support health care improvements.
